Robin Van Persie will love to return to Asia for future pre-seasons

Arsenal's 18-goal hero Robin Van Persie believes the team's week-long visit to Malaysia and China instead of its annual trip to nearby Austria, will surely have a profound effect on the players mindset in respect to the upcoming Premier League season.

The Netherlands international was very impressed with the massive turnout in Asia, and insists that the change of environment will be beneficial to him and most of his team-mates, who until now, would have voted unanimously for a return to the norm, not minding the thrills and spills an adventure to the Far East could generate: “Hopefully it will have a big impact,” he told Arsenal Members at a Q&A at Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

“For our mind-set it was quite good to change our pre-season trip from Austria to the Far East. We had a bit more stuff to do, it was short and quite intense which was good.
“I spoke to a couple of the guys and they were all pleased to be there and meet the fans.

“We got a feeling that Arsenal is a really big club. We could feel that. We didn't really feel that in Austria because it is very quiet.”
