Wolfsburg deny interest in Arsenal target

Following Arsene Wenger's declaration some days ago, that he needed to strengthen his team ahead of next season.

The Guardian quickly posited that Wenger, might be tempted to lure Real Madrid's centre back Metzelder, to the Emirates instead of bidding for Fulham's Brede Hangeland who is valued at £10m.

Recently there have been numerous reports linking the 29-year-old defender, whose contract with Real Madrid expires this summer, to Panathinaikos, and Wolfsburg.
But the latter's general manager Dieter Hoeness, is upset by the stories: "This is just rubbish, there is nothing true in these rumours," Hoeness said.
"I am asking myself how certain news can be edited..." he added.

Well, I don't like the idea of gunning for old players (29), but I sincerely hope we can shake off competition for the veteran's signature, whose arrival might signal the end of Sylvestre's error-prone career at Arsenal.
