Robin And The Arsenal Are Getting There; Slow And Steady They Say Wins The Race

Who says laughter is not really the best form of medicine needed in times like this to soothe the nerves of fans of the beautiful round leather game the world over?

I do not give a hoot about what the media or other soccer teams and their employees think of our current resurgence in the world's most watched/exciting league. Speaking from a biased point of view, I think my vocabulary has run out of superlatives to describe the blistering form of Robin van Persie -the center forward continues to dominate the headlines with performances such as the stunning hat trick he grabbed at Stamford Bridge, followed by a goal and two assists at the Emirates last weekend against West Brom, where the Gunners fired on all cylinders to deliver a masterclass in the art of football in the presence of their darling supporters.

I read Arsene Wenger's comments on the match in respect to the total commitment being exhibited by his boys at present and his overall view on the premier league this season. And I must admit, those were interesting topics the manager raised, and his admission that there was still much to be done showed how committed he was to building a legendary team capable of ending our long trek to the promised land of trophies. The players must keep this performance(s) up if they are to stand a ghost of a chance against the Arab and Russian financed clubs in the league.
