Howard Webb named for Arsenal game

Referee Howard Webb will oversee proceedings on Saturday between
Arsenal and Birmingham at St. Andrews.

It's pertinent we know who is officiating, especially after last
week's event - Thomas Vermaelen, was unjustly adjudged to have brought
down a West Ham player inside the Gunners penalty area, in the process
the referee arrived at the hasty conclusion that he was at fault and
sent off the defender for the foul. Anyway we appealed but that is
history.

The South Yorkshire-based official has refereed 31 games so far this
season, in which he has produced a total of 110 yellow cards and for
reds.

Mr Webb will be assisted by Darren Cann from Norfolk and Mike
Mullarkey from Devon.

Hopefully, he will uphold the tenets of refereeing, and by doing so he won't disrupt our title dream. . .
