Arsenal Upbeat Despite Setbacks

Arsenal's new signings have promised to turn our season around. The Gunners' effort to play an attractive brand of football of their own last season were commendable, if ultimately fruitless, as injuries and suspensions in the Premier League made for a disappointing finish.

Indeed had the likes of Abou Diaby, Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie, Thomas Vermaelen, Marouane Chamakh and Samir Nasri not succumbed to injuries, our fluidity and ease of movement around our opponents could have easily compensated for our profligacy in front of goal.

An assured and dominant display by Manchester United in Old Trafford proved too much for the depleted visitors to date as Arsenal left Manchester with their hands on their heads for their effort. The manager Arsene Wenger refused to be downbeat despite watching his side fall to a... nevermind. We are recharged to say the least, and I know the boys can play well and compete with the top players, winning the Premier League by all means is our main goal this season.

The stage for Arsenal to reassert its supremacy is the Champions League, the club didn't sign marquee players as hoped - I think Arteta obviously, Mertesacker and Gervinho are three of the best players in the League and any team would find them a handful. We maybe made a few mistakes last season by allowing some disgruntled members of the squad to play without enjoyment and passion, and if stars who don the colours of the Arsenal are not passionate about our history, the club will definitely struggle to stay ahead of the game.

With the confirmation of our latest additions and their immediate declarations of duty, I think it is only logical to conclude that our game is back on track.

I'm quite happy with the signings. I believe though individually they may not measure up to some of the more established players, they somehow possess lethal combination with our group of high potential youth. The whole team will combine very effectively based on collective talents. I think it's time now to call back all the fans to stand united behind the team and give them the motivation they deserved.
