Arsene Wenger confirms defensive signing imminent on Arse.com

There is good news on the official website as Arsene Wenger prepares to herald the coming of a new defender possibly Lorient's Laurent Koscielny.

The media has been awash with a lot of speculative stories lately, but there is confirmation of an impending announcement related to a new signing.

Wenger told Arse.com: "Nothing has been done yet but I expect something will be done quite soon on that front, on the defensive front. We will sign a player soon," he enthused.

"But we do not want to come out with names before we announce it.

"Keep faith in what has always worked well for us and that is to keep it secret as much as we can."
