Arsenal lead AC Milan (Marouane Chamakh, 1-0)

Arsenal are currently running things here at the Emirates.

Marouane Chamakh has ensured that everything will go according to plan with a neatly finished effort deep inside the penalty area, thanks to Andrey Arshavin's powerful run from the left side of the midfield.

So far so good, the goal is the only distinct difference between both sides. Our Italian visitors have shown their ability to rise to the occasion, defensively speaking our boys aren't doing badly.

Looks like our soon to be prodigal son Flamini, returned with a vengeance. I'm not surprised anyway, he's still the same old guy; strong, fast and above all dangerous. Koscielny showed some flashes of sheer brilliance, but I think he's just a slow learner, he'll definitely come to terms with our style of play just like his newbie friend from Morocco has shown.

Wilshere and Nasri are doing a great job. They've successfully tied up the loose midfield ends, and might get on the score-sheet if an informal agreement between them and those hard tackling men from Milan can be met.

The flanks aren't suffering, Kieran Gibbs and Emmanuel Eboue are up to the task, and Fabianski... I'll save that for later. The captain is living up to expectation - came close twice.

Full match report coming soon.
