Andrey Arshavin comments on Sk Sturm Graz victory

Arsene Wenger's Russian import Andrey Arshavin spoke to his official website after the team's victory in yesterday's pre-season match against Sk Sturm Graz.

The 29-year-old midfielder was elated with the team's performance as they cruised past their Austrian counterpart 3-0. Arshavin who played for 45 minutes is adamant the Arsenal squad can withstand the rigours of the forthcoming Premier League season, during the interview he spoke of the unpleasant weather condition in Graz, our possessive style of play and his take on the quality of goals scored yesterday.

Arshavin praised Wenger's sustitution decisions in the second half of the encounter: The coach has to play other guys and they managed to win the game. In the first half Arsenal had some good chances, but couldn't trouble the Austrians much, the team needed a practice match, so we all had to play.

Arshavin was impressed with Arsenal supporters who made the trip, and those based in Austria who came out to cheer their stars. He commented further on other notable absentees and when we might see them train fully with the rest of the squad: Those players who represented the club at the World Cup in South Africa, have already trained with us, but on an individual basis. Tomorrow we'll be reunited with them.
