The versatile player has being linked with Arsenal severally, but his plan for a move away from the German side was dealt a cruel blow by an anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up in their Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Egyptian International is expected to undergo surgery by the knee specialist Dr J├╝rgen Eichborn in Straubing.
According to BvD's team doctor Markus Braun, Zidan will be sidelined for approximately six months.
