Barcelona set to bid for Cahill

Unsubstantiated reports in Spain claim current champions league holders Barcelona, will be more than delighted to join the free for all transfer affair involving Bolton's highly coveted center back, Gary Cahill.

Bolton's manager Owen Coyle has made no bones about the possibility of selling his much sought-after center back, although it must be for the right price - believed to be in the region of €18million. Earlier on, Arsenal and Liverpool were considered to be the front-runners in the virtual race for the 25-year-old defender. However, the situation might change if Barcelona fail in their bid to sign Belgium international Jan Vertonghen.

Barca would happily accelerate the transfer proceedings of Cahill (availability of funds), if they fail to convince Arsenal to part company with their in demand midfield orchestrator Cesc Fabregas, who sources say is making sinister plans, to buyout his contract with the North London outfit.

Barcelona are bankrupt. They can't even afford to pay salaries and you think they can afford Cesc -€45million and money conscious Gary -€18million. They must be joking.
I think Wenger is prioritizing the arrival of Scott Dann to the detriment of the Arsenal defence. Lets look at United, they've bought 20 year olds for more than what we've spent or will spend in the next 3 seasons. It is time for action, Wenger needs to sign men not boys. A word as they say is enough for the wise.
wenger should go for cahill befor the season start or Jan Vertonghen
Well, well, does this mean that Cahill has got the Barca DNA or am I missing something?
Does anyone smell a rat here? Arsenal were reported to be going in for Cahill and the deal for Cesc is going south ...
