Sol Campbell is confident he can withstand the pressure at White
Hart Lane next week.

The seasoned defender has being subjected to various types of
disgusting abuse in the past, whenever he faced his former club
[Tottenham], who incidentally fired him to limelight. Campbell is
fully aware of the situation on ground and is eager to prove Arsene
Wenger's critics who expressed dismay at his re-signing three months
ago wrong.

The 35-year-old said: "If the manager wants me to play, that is not a
problem for me. Whenever he needs me, I am there. I aint got time for
that sentimental stuff. There are five games to go, and you have just
got to be ruthless."

The prodigal son made it clear that their best alone won't be good
enough next week against Tottenham. He implored his team mates to put
aside the 4-1 drubbing they suffered at the hands of Catalan giants
Barcelona at the Camp Nou five days ago, and instead concentrate their
limited resources on the task at hand: "There is a lot of hard work to
be done and we have to get Barca out of our system," the veteran
defensive enforcer declared.

"You have got to recover and learn that this the level you have to get
to. This is a big time for us - We've got to regroup and re-think.
It'll be a great game at Spurs and I think it'll do us the world of
good.

Sol wants the Gunners to grow up [mentally and aggresively] if they
want us to believe they stand a chance of restoring parity in the League and
possibly putting an end to our barren trophy run in the process:
"Everyone has to learn and be honest about it," he added.

"Ask: "Where do I want my career going? You have to be honest with
yourself and say: "I must work harder, understand the game more and
realise it's a big world out there."

Vermaelen eager to learn from Sol

Arsenal's Belgian import Thomas Vermaelen, has revealed that he's
willing to learn from Arsene Wenger's prodigal son [Sol Campbell].

He went further to say that Sol's presence in the team shouldn't be
understated, because he's the balm that soothes the team's fears
during difficult moments. And the Belgian understands the age-old
adage that says "to be the best you have to learn from the best" and
he's ready to put that into practice by entertaining classes from the
ex England international.

Vermaelen has been outstanding in a pack of impressive players this
season, I guess I won't be wrong, if I refer to him as the best
defender in the Premier League so far. He's got what every manager
will spend for; great strength, determination, courage, good vision,
ability to deal properly with aerial bombardments and above all, an
eye for goal.

"I can learn a lot from him," Vermaelen told Arsenal Tv Online. "He
speaks a lot on the pitch and for young players and a young team it is
important to have somebody with a lot of experience who talks a lot on
the pitch."

The Gunners defensive enforcer also thanked William Gallas for the
successful partnership they have developed. He insisted that Silvestre
and Sol are the best options available for the vacancy created by
Gallas who is currently suffering from a calf injury.

"If he plays next to me it makes it easier for me.

"But he's not there (at the moment) and we have other centre-backs
like Mikael Sylvestre and Sol. They are both experienced and it is
really good to play with them," he enthused.

Sol Campbell wins lawsuit

Sol Campbell's barristers have successfully proved that Portmouth owe
him £1.67m in unpaid salaries.

Although, the ex Portmouth skipper isn't in a hurry to be paid his
dues - he agreed that the unpaid wages could only be settled when/if
Portmouth found a new buyer and if the administrator accepts the debt
as his burden.

Portmouth who lost disgracefully (4-1) to Liverpool at Anfield
yesterday, were claiming that the debt was image rights. And so,
Campbell should queue up like other creditors pending when they
clean-up their financial mess (which would have been 10% of what they
actually owe our man).
But his solicitors were able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the
money owed Mr. Campbell was supposed to be payment for his contribution to
the Club.

The club is in administration currently and are racing against time to avoid an
almost inevitable relegation to the Championship. The ruling by the
High Court, must have been a big blow (financially) to the club, which might drown in relegation waters come May. Their problems are far from over as
it is rumoured that Pompey also owe ex Gunner Nwankwo Kanu, money
under the same guise.

Meanwhile, the HMRC tax officers have swung into action in a bid to
unravel Portmouth's shady dealings with their employee's and to
investigate whether other players' wages are also been held against
their wish.

Sol Campbell's lawyer Andrew Onslow Qc said: "Mr Campbell accepts that
he will not be paid the cash until such a time as either the club is
removed from administration or the administrator agrees to the debt
been actioned by Mr Campbell and ourselves."

The 35-year-old defender is also set to recieve £50,000 in interest payments.
What a boost that will be to his pet project (charity programme for kids).

Campbell & Bendtner - We've to keep fighting

Arsenal's prodigal son Sol Campbell, is really enjoying his second
spell at the North London outfit and he just told Arsenal Tv Online
what has to be done if we must end our barren trophy run this year.

The experienced defender advised his team mates to keep the Arsenal
fire burning within them and to believe they can do the impossible
by getting ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea to stand a chance of
winning the title.

He spoke about Arsenal's last gasp winner at Hull two days ago, and insists it was good for the team's morale:
"We kept fighting and got the win in the end, and we do not care as
long as the win comes," Campbell told Arsenal Tv Online.

"It is never easy, you have to win and earn your rights, you have to
play good football - nobody is just going to give you three points in
this League, no chance.

"We just have to keep focused, picking up the wins and stay in there."

Nicklas Bendtner, the man who single-handedly triggered the
termination of Phil Brown's contract at Hull City via that late goal
on Saturday, has maintained that he doesn't want to be distracted by
his critics and he's instead prepared to do his talking on the pitch.
The striker is confident that the Gunners can continue manufacturing
favourable results. All they have to do is keep a cool head.

"A lot of things are said in football, a lot of comments made -
everyone has their opinions," he said. "I cannot really say what is
the difference (in Arsenal this season) but we are winning and just
have to keep doing that."

Campbell - we must prevail

"Whoever plays must give it everything they've got in these remaining
games, and see where it takes us."

Arsenal are ready to place their Champions League hopes on veteran Sol
Campbell if the need arises.
The 35-year-old former England international is yet to make a European
appearance since the Champions League final defeat to Barcelona almost
four years ago.

Andrey Arshavin - hamstring.
Eduardo - yet to fully recover from his nagging hamstring.
The veteran might just make his third appearance and arguably his
biggest in recent years. Sol has already managed two appearances for
the Gunners ever since abandoning his contract at Notts County and
re-signing for Arsenal in January. He played all 90 minutes against
Stoke City in the FA Cup defeat at the Britannia and coming in as a
substitute for Thomas Vermaelen in the 0-0 Epl draw at Villa Park.

The manager believes in the veteran's ability and might give him an
opportunity to prove he's worth the recall.
"It's a possibility that I don't rule out at the moment because if he
(Campbell) doesn't play there it would mean you play with two
left-footed players (Vermaelen and Sylvestre) that I don't really
like.
"It would mean he can show his signing was worth doing and he can help
us in going through to the last eight."
He maintained before the team departed for Porto yesterday.

as media reports continue to claim the eccentric midfielder is set for
a Camp Nou comeback.
Arshavin has spoken out on the rumours, but he didn't dispel them.
Which indirectly means there might be an iota of truth in them.
"If he goes to Barcelona, I will understand his choice. But as an
Arsenal player, I really don't want this to happen," Arshavin
enthused.
"I remember when there were rumours of his departure last summer, I
told him half-jokingly, half seriously: "Stay at least a year or two,
I want to play with you."
"We joke about this topic again now. But Cesc is a grown man and only
he can decide."
