The Indomitable Lions' coach Paul Le Guen, confirmed the incident and revealed that the 23-year old defensive midfielder injured his right calf during a routine warm-up match ahead of their last group E match with the Netherlands, whom they lost to by a slender margin of one goal (2-1).
Le Guen said: "Ten minutes before kickoff, it was noted by the team doctors that he could not play, he already had a warning a day before the training."
